Belarus.

Belarus is my motherland. It’s a small country. But it’s very beautiful. The area is more than 200 thousand sq. kilometers. It lies in the eastern Europe, between Poland and Russia. The population is about 9 million people. The capital of the republic is Minsk. Belarus is a country of picturesque places, blue lakes and thick green forests, old castles and rare animals.

Belarus has it’s national symbols such as: a flag, an anthem, an emblem and a costume. Our costumes are very beautiful. They are white with red ornaments. Our flag has red, green and white colours. The green colour is a symbol of our forests. The white colour is a symbol of peace. The red colour is a symbol of our heroism during the wars.

Belarus is famous for white storks and blue cornflowers. Storks are a symbol of good luck. Cornflowers are a symbol of our blue-eyed country. You can see them on our fields. Our people are proud of our motherland and I’m proud of it, too.
